We are a family of four living on a yacht (sailboat). Our plan is to sail round the world, eventually. First we need to fix the boat up, save money and plan our journey. Our original plan to set sail in 2017 has been pushed back by a bigger boat and a couple of children, but we'll get there!
Mum (Claire): A career woman who yearns to escape the office and travel the world. Her special skills include never-ending confidence in achieving her or the family's goals and organisational skills which can herd cats. Her practical skills range from sewing to building rudders, and her insightful approach often gives steer to Duncan's more "interesting" ideas. Always a team player.
Dad (Duncan): A software engineer by trade. A sailor, climber and fun-loving dad by choice. His special skills include: wrangling several children with his octopus like arms and extreme contortionist when trying to effect those hard-to-reach boat jobs and cooking. His do first, think later approach to boat jobs often achieves "interesting" results. In an emergency he's the first to the front with a sensible plan and a cool head.
Elizabeth: Often found swinging from ropes or singing. She loves playing in water and is a keen swimmer. Her favourite things are purple, slimy, bubbles and stickers. She especially loves the glow-in-dark rocket ship and star stickers above her bed.
Aneurin: Often found climbing or roaring. He loves to run in circles and roar at the swans in the river. His favourite things are dinosaurs, flashing lights, balls and bubbles. He especially loves the book baskets next to his bed and falling asleep in a pile of books.
