It's cold outside!

So, its pretty cold outside. This morning the pontoon looked like this:
That channel in the middle is where it's been gritted, lucky as its pretty slippy otherwise. Unfortunately you can't always guarantee it going to be gritted, and after a few times a couple of years ago when a pregnant Claire had to literally crawl along an iced pontoon to get to work we bought ourselves a few pairs of pull on ice grips. They are rubber pull on soles with studs. These go over most of our shoes and mean even if the pontoon isn't gritted we can still safely make it to land! Here's a picture of the same versions we have, but there are plenty of varieties available (order them direct on amazon)

We keep a spare pair in the car for times when we might be caught on the land and need to get to the boat via an iced pontoon.

Although they don't look like much, they definitely do work. Even better we picked ours up in Aldi for only a few quid a pair.
